This kit will make you rise above all the stock versions of the Ford Superduty.
The new 2005 Super Duty features a solid front axle, Coil Springs design with Radius Arms. So what does this mean? The new front coil spring design allows for improved ride quality. A coil spring will move and flex more freely than a leaf spring due to the absence of friction. The factory Ford radius arm is over 34” long. The control arms long design allows for a miraculous amount of wheel travel and a longer arc of axle movement through out suspension travel. The axle is allowed to move farther and more freely allowing for the best ride quality possible. The rear shocks are now ‘staggered’ on the 2005 models. One shock is located on the front of the axle and one is located on the rear. This helps eliminate unwanted axle movement or axle wrap by placing the shocks resistance at both the front and rear of the axle. Skyjacker® is excited to release 2”, 4”, 6” and 8.5” Suspension Systems for the 2005 Super Duty. Each lift includes increased height Softride® front coil springs. Only 5160H alloy material is used to ensure consistency of all Skyjacker® exclusive Softride® coil springs. A Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machine is used to wind the coil springs with precision. Every coil is then dimensionally tested through a meticulous check system to ensure the proper specifications. Each spring is preset to solid to add memory and eliminate settling. They are then load tested at 100% curb weight. A final height rate is used to certify the consistency of the pound rate through the complete cycle. The 4”, 6”, and 8.5” Suspension Lifts feature full-height Softride® front coil springs, heavy-duty track bar relocation bracket to center the axle, extended sway bar end links, radius arm drop brackets and a new drop pitman arm. Rear is lifted with either a lift block or Softride® rear leaf springs. Softride® leaf springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring pack are shotpeened with hard steel pellets at a very high velocity. This shotpeening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shotpeening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride® springs use “bolt” style spring clips, instead of the band style clamps. With the traditional “band” style clamps, used by others, the leaves are clamped together. This type of band limits wheel travel and results in a harsher ride quality. But with Skyjacker’s Softride® springs, the bolt style clip allows the spring to travel, reduces internal friction, and delivers a superb ride. Models with rear sway bar must order extended rear sway bar end links. Models equipped with Sterling rear axle will need wider rear u-bolts. FA450 pitman arm is required, but not included. Shocks NOT included.
