Tuffy Jeep Wrangler Glove Box (1997-06)

Sturdy glove box. Much more secure than factory glove box. Installation is a major pain. Holes just barely line up. You cant use a normal size screwdriver for the bottom screws as the box is in the way, this makes it very difficult to get the screws in because a short handle screwdriver is needed. It is very hard to get enough torque to get the misaligned screws screwed in. The locking mechanism should be revised. The locking mechanism on the factory box does not need to be lubricated. Having looked at the mechanism, having to lubricate this mechanism so frequently is a design flaw. Pros:

I had hoped to use this box as temporary handgun storage but am unable to do so as it is difficult to get any larger objects out of the box because there is not a lot of space between a very large and very sharp edged latch cover and the dash board when the box is open. As the Tuffy box is not advertised as gun storage, this is not a knock on the product. I just mention this in case anyone is thinking along the same lines I was.
